Did you make clear that you removed the stickers before you send in your PS4? If you did (even on the phone) you can prove it and use that to force them to provide a free repair, as they told you it would be free. I don't know if that is possible for you, hope this helps you. Otherwise it is an important lesson for others to clearly state BEFORE sending your ps4 that it has no more warranty stickers.
