Troubleshooting your PS4 PRO

Questions

There could be several things causing a problem here.

I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect that if the PS4 Pro detects that it can't pass a signal to a TV / Monitor, after a few attempts, or after detecting problems, it might auto shutdown. [much like a PC monitor if turned on with no PC attached  to it - you get a 'No Signal Detected' message, and it will turn to black]

A] You are running your 4k signal from your PS4P into a surround amp that doesn't have 4k pass through, then into your TV...it won't work, you need to update your surround amp to one that does 4K pass through...... Or use HDMI straight to your TV, and optical audio cable from your PS4P into your amp.....if it's not a 4k signal being sent....then this isn't the problem.

B] If you are using first or second generation HDMI cables, anywhere between your PS4P and your HT amp or direct to your TV you are going to have problems.... 4K need the latest high bandwidth HDMI cables to transfer the signal without dropouts or sparkles [white dot's where not all the info is being transmitted to the TV, but still enough to get a picture ] - solution - update your HDMI cables to suitable ones.[ Don't buy MONSTER ones ]

C] You could have a mismatch between your TV and PS4p's video signal output - several way to sort this one - the easiest is to go to the PS4P's setting > Video setting > output select > Auto detect.

If you have your PS4P output selected at 4K and Deep Color, and your TV does not fully accept those settings - Problems....hence Auto select, and let the PS4P and your TV talk to each other to sort things out.

You could be suffering a combination of problems from the above 3.

This sort of stuff also happened years ago when HDMI first came out, and you had different brands not wanting to communicate with each other....Like Sony PS3's and Samsung / Panasonic or LG TV's....it could be the same sort of lack of 'Handshaking' as it's called, not allowing the PS4P to be understood by your particular TV....if it's internet capable TV, check and see if there is a software update available for it.
