Sorry but I need to be a jackass, because your statement is about the same as saying that putting 8 slices of bread into a 4 slice toaster will be a problem. While any system may work better off a cabled connection rather than wifi, this is not the reason why people are experiencing this issue. I have changed my connection type from LAN to Wifi to see if I could connect to the friend, and I could. I sit directly next to my son, we both use PS4, at times we both run it via wifi, yet I have NEVER experienced this issue with him. This is a global issue based probably on restrictions Sony has put in place on their systems, albeit unintentionally, but needless to say, it is a Sony problem which is unresolved for a very long time, and it seems as they do not care enough to do anything to fix, or address it accurately but rather make it the issues of their gamers.
