I have been using a set of skullcandy earbuds w/inline mic for the last two to three years (used a playstation gold headset the first year I purchased my console) and I have had no issues with regards to being able hear and speak in party chat (i.e. I can hear friends talk and my audio is received from others in the party). But I logged-in this week and I could not get my earbuds to to transmit my voice audio. I have checked any and all settings, bluetooth devices, audio devices, sound and screen (though I know this does not affect mic audio/voice I still went and checked it), restarted the console, changed voice sharing options, I even tested the mic on a different controller. The result was always the same, I could hear my friends but I could not get my mic to receive my voice and transmit it to the party. I then checked if the mic itself worked. Plugged it into my phone recorded my voice and could hear myself in the playback. I did the same on my computer, once again I could hear my voice in the playback. So the mic clearly works, I don't think it is either of my controllers, the output audio is fine, I just can't talk into chat.
Please, if anyone has any information on this issue I would appreciate you sharing. I know that the playstation was recently updated to ver6.00 so maybe the update somehow affected audio devices and how they are picked up on the controller (maybe that's too far-fetched to believe). But like I said, I have tried pretty much any and all obvious tweaks/settings.
Thanks,
NeuroticExodus
