Just had this issue on the right side, got customer service and after all the necessary running around, just got an email today telling me it isn't covered 'cause it's a physical damage. I got these on 4/11/2016, they broke on 20/1/2017. So yup...avoid if you can.
It is quite annoying that it seems the US can get a replacement - which could also experience the same issue. You'd think they'd actually have fixed this by now, since it's a common issue...
