Cannot Access the USB Storage Device - Error code CE-31414-3)
I'm having code error CE-31414-3 on my 1TB Seagate. I used the same HDD previously and it succeeded in backing up but after the recent update 5.00 (Oct 2017) the backup failed. The disk formatted as exFAT (ignore the silly year renaming). Any solutions?

Just throwing my hat into the ring.
My blue ray player works fine, I have been playing Shadow of War for the last few days, no bother. I have also watched a Blu-ray game of thrones no issue.
I get this error too, I cannot update to v5, and until a few hours ago it was only affecting my ability to connect to the ps network etc. But earlier it actually got to the stage where my PS4 restarted and came back on with the error code.
Now I can't use the PS4 at all. Going to safe mode just results in the controller never pairing with the console. Trying to press back at the error code screen results in the controller just flashing and never connecting. I have had this console less than 2 years, not used it extensively and now it's a paper weight.
This isn't on.

Unplug the ps4 for a while. Connect the controller with usb, turn on and you should be able to quit out of the error page after a short rebuild.

Yep, just got the same issue, started downloading Fartnite got to 4.9GB and it completely stopped. Tried the pause and resume, the network test tricks but it will not continue any further.
And yes my internet is working fine as I am on my laptop posting this message, by the way, my internet connection speed is 100Mbps but the Ps4 says 8Mbps?? Knew I should have brought a Xbox...
I knew buying this from the PS Store was a bad idea, should have brought the disk version...

Hi, thanks for the advice. I tried again, and it seems that my error code is actually Su-30645-8 corrupt data. However it is to the same effect. I tried unplugging the console. Started it with cable, tho, when it came to the screen, the controller simply wouldn't switch on. Tried several cables, no good. Tried safe mode. Several cables. No good. Wish I'd just cancelled the update and waited for Sony to sort this out.

Starting the PS4 in Safe Mode
