PS4 Pro random black screen dropouts

I have tested it more thoroughly today and unfortunately the blackouts still occurs meaning version 5.50 didn’t fix the problem. So either learn to accept the blackscreen or return the pro for regular PS4 or Xbox One, that’s the best advice I can give.

Sony , please do something about this . This is not the same as Preparing to Download phase prior to patch 5.0. The copying takes way too long for such small patches on games that are updated regularly. Again never had this problem prior to 5.0. This feels like they're following Xbox One's model after the update , where after the download process it copies the file as well. This process takes too long of a time, they need to either reduce the copy time , or revert to downloading straiht to the HDD.

Yeah I just opened mine up for the first time ever to check all connections and clean it out just to be safe (since my system won't update, and i'm outside of warranty anyways). Make sure everything was good, reassembled it exactly how I took it apart, and now it won't turn on.

Ahahahha. Screw this crap, I'm throwing this hunk of garbage away.

edit: Got it to turn back on like normal. Went to update in safemode and got the same error code again. What the *****, dude.

PS4 System Software Update 5.50 [08/03/18]

Mine does error code (SU-30671-7) which isn’t even recognized on Sony’s error code database, but I know it’s related to the update. Tried everything the internet said to do, but always keep getting this error after it tries to install the update file. And of course I talked to someone in support who suggests I fork over $99 to send it to them. If anything they need to send me $99 for bricking my system that worked perfectly fine before they forced this update.

Has PlayStation support actually helped any of y’all? I keep calling and they tell me to do the same things. I’ve tried downloading this 5.50 update several times and when it goes into safe mode it to install the update the same error code keeps popping up.

Wow. I took mine apart for the first time, thoroughly cleaned it out, made sure all ribbons and connectors were tight, all screws were in place and snug, reassembled everything and still got my error code in both safemode and regular.

sigh.

There is NO list because developers of "for PC first wireless headsets" Change Components EVERY year they build them, breaking compliance...

A 2014 build may work fine..

A 2015 build will not..

yet a 2016 build will be fine

but a 2017 build will not be fine... The box says the same exact model name on it but they were rebuilt inside from a different batch from another year..

PC First brands to avoid due to yearly build compliance issues are...

Razer...

Corsair...

Buying a Built "for PC first" wireless headset runs this risk because they don't use the same components every year in the headset build...

Built for "console first" headsets normaly have an EXTERNAL audio feed and have a SECOND cable to feed a GAME audio feed into the USB BASE STATION or USB Dongle that powers the Wireless headset as its the broadcaster and receiver for the HQ lossless wireless audio...

The exception to this is the SIEA builds that are built to run on SIEA own VSS firmware on PS3 and PS4...

The console generation since PS2 era use RF/wifi 2.4 or 5ghz ( new ) to get wireless audio at the best quality for the price point

They do not use Bluetooth compression audio profiles and Bluetooth audio profiles are NOT supported on PS2 or PS3 or PS4 for game audio...

Now if you can't afford the SIEA stereo wireless headset 2.0 ~€70

Then you won't be able to afford most of the Popular Wireless builds this means you enter bargin bin wireless area...

Bargin bin wireless is specifically built to be disposable units as you will upgrade later, their not long term build quality their there to allow you to save up for a year to get a Quality wireless headset...

If your willing to dump wireless and use a PC to update headset USB firmware then its a completely different story and you just get the Hyper X cloud 2 and upgrade the USB dongle hardware firmware and use a wired headset...

~€50 at discount/sale deals...

You need to set a budget and actualy mean that budget limit...

You also have to state if for that price point that you could go second hand...You can get a better headset going second hand (after you clean it and get rid of past users sweat and bacteria off course...)

So for people to post models you need to post...

MAX budget actual figure... that you can never go over...

Is Wired an option YES/NO

Is Wireless a 100% must have feature... YES/NO

Are you willing and under stand the risks of second hand aka. ebay / Non Amazon warehouse fulfilled Amazon second hand market seller.../CEX shops/ Gumtree... YES/NO

This stuff matters as you can get better builds by not buying 100% new or getting a refurbished device...

Post the info...

If its under €50 and wireless your going to be stuck with PDP after glow wireless junk normaly, be better off going wired...

Nope. They're useless. Had 3 livechat agents and one telephone rep all try to get me to do the same generic troubleshooting I'd already done all day long with no success. I've tried everything, even resorted to opening up my console today for the first time ever, thoroughly cleaning it, checking to make sure all connections were secure, etc - still got the stupid error code. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah, Sony doesn't care either. There are people on this forum who have had this same issue since 5.05 (1/18/2018) with absolutely no resolution other than a rep telling them to send it in and pay to have it repaired. You know, for the mistake THEY made in their mandatory firmware update that bricked the console that you paid for and continued to support with their pricey online service.

It's absolutely deplorable.
