Have you gone into the automatic downloads section of the settings and checked the application update files is turned off? I know that is a simple thing, but some people miss it, and it may be that it turned itself back on? Hope that helps.

It’s allowing mine to work. Having to reinstall everything from scratch.
But id rather spend man hours than money for it to be fixed.
Id suggest people try the safe mode software update via the internet before they check their cables.
They might have released another patch without their Russian spy technology

Trust me im sure it will work iasked the question before i i try clean the dust. My ps4 could turn on if i tap the bottom with my hand and hold it up but it was turning off after some time while in game and most of time if i unplug and plug i could see light blue one beep then turn off. What i did was to blow and brush all the side holes where the air comes out and i opened also the upper case to clean the cpu fan .after that i tap the bottom a little hard and my ps4 can run 24/7 now update me when u try

Sorry guys replied at the bottom of the thread.
Nothing was loose under my console cover so didn’t actually fiddle with anything.
Thought id give safe mode a try again. Chose option 3 isn’t it to update the software. Updated via my WiFi connection and it let me start up the console from scratch.
Have logged in on myself and am currently downloading my games back from the library.

So I don’t know if this will work for everyone but I had take my ps4 apart it was old running loud and hot , I cleaned it put new thermal paste on well throughout the process I had dropped the screw the holds the blu ray player in the front down and I will attach photo for what I mean.. but I had also been getting this error talked to Sony tried getting me to do internet software update usb safe mode etc. wanted me to a complete reinstall thankfully it didn’t work when I tried ... so ***** because the night before my ps4 worked no issues
what I did and again don’t know if it will work for you but if you had take it apart my make sure your blue ray ribbon cable is in correctly, the right way and you can you tube or whatever u need to do to see it , also make sure that screw is in

Opened up to check ribbons noticed the ribbon connected to the motherboard the pin that secure's the ribbon wasnt attached properly. After fidling about got the pin secure. Started up ps4 blu ray disc started making noise and now not accepting discs hahaha one thing after another!

Got the same problem here. But after i take my ps4 to pieces it worked. There was a white flat cable which i broke before(new cooling paste) , just unplugged it then plugged it back and now its working. But first formatted with usb and then i choose the internet option for update(after i put it together). So i dont know which was the solution.
