i looked at those fixes and i thought it was the HDD but im trying something now so if it doesnt work then im guessing its one of those two things. The HDD or the Blue ray drive. Edit: I tried disconnecting the blue ray drive and everything but still got the same error.

Make sure all your disc drive ribbons are connected properly and are in firmly try to update in safe mode both Internet and usb. If that hasn't worked remove ribbons use an compressed air on ribbons and connect pins. There's 2 ribbons on the dis drive and one under the power supply. how lon has your disc drive not been working?

I did as you said i sprayed down all the ribbons and made sure they were secure and nothing worked as for how long as it not been working im not sure i would guess up until recently. Been mainly playing my digital games. Edit: I looked though the error history and it seemed i got same error code as you did. Here is what my ps4 looks like inside.

My solution was...
So... After re-intializing and re-loading the game. Along with starting in safe mode and doing option 5 to re-build the database... Followed by finally turning off then on my connection to the internet in setting it is working.

Yeah no matter what i've tried hasn't worked either.
I even tried opt 7 in safe mode and it still threw SU-42218-6.

I was going to try and order a replacement but if its just the blu-ray drive then thats a bit more reasonable. But yeah i tried opt. 7 as well but still didnt work. So im guessing the Blu-ray drive went out as its not working at all.

Sony Gold Wireless Headset Problem
Okay, I’ve recently restore my Sony Gold Headsets on the “Headset Campanion App” and now I can’t connect to my ps4 wirelessly, unless it’s plugged in manually to my controller. The blue light that indicates won’t turn on as well has the red light showing when it’s being charged. It’s very upsetting to know a update can kill my headsets like this.
