Ps4 software update v.6.20 error
Upon start up I get a message saying "Cannot start PS4. Connect Dualshock and press PS button". After doing that I get a screen pop up with "Safe mode" and a message saying "Connect a USB device with reinstallation for version 6.20 or later". I have downloaded this file from the PlayStation website on several occasions and tried to get my PS4 to update by reading the file from my USB, however, it tells me "The update file cannot be used. Connect a USB that contains a file for version 6.20 or later". I haven't been able to use my PS4 for around 3-4 months and can't even get onto the dashboard. I know the version I've downloaded is 6.20 but my PlayStation won't accept it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

6.50 update no audio will they even address this problem??
This is ridiculous: ps3, xbox 360, Nintendo switch, Wii u all work for sound on my TV for both speakers and sound from TV itself. It is not the TV! How do you break the sound from an update? And why has there been no official communication? I was going to buy a new TV at some point, but I'm not going to rush out for a new one because Sony broke my sound. Next console generation is Microsoft again!

No audio after 6.50 update
How has there been no official communication on this yet? It seems like a major problem. I just want to play some games on my much earned time off without having to rush out to buy a new TV cause Sony can't test their updates before releasing. I'm using headphones for now to play Odyssey, but it sucks. I guess back to Microsoft for next generation (last gen I bought almost 100 games for xbox 360 and multiple models, so this is thousands of dollars loss for Sony).

If the system is requiring the re-installation update file then ignore the blue download now button and scroll down to the very bottom of the system software Web page to "Perform a New Installation of the System Software" click on the + to expand to reveal the download link for the re-installation update file.

PS4 Pro bricked after 6.50 update
mine is just a black screen and nothing else. the blue light fades on and off for a minute then turns white. stays like that. cant get into safe mode. cant do anything. Sony should pay for the repair since it's their update that caused this. bought in 2015 so out of warranty.
update, after 10th attempt, i finally got into safe mode. restart just brought the black screen back. at least now i have audio. sounds like everything is working except the video.

Just finished downloading the file from the web and transferring it to my PlayStation. Still have the same issue, it tells me "you need to download to version 6.20 or later" even though the version is 6.50? I'm going to download the "reinstallation" one, though it tells me it'll wipe my memory from the PlayStation so I guess I lose all my games save data? Pretty upset about this but I literally can't use the console otherwise. I only bought the thing 6-7 months ago, brand new

4Tb SSD in PS4 Pro
Did you end up getting the 4tb ssd to work in your PS4 Pro? I have a CUH-7215B ( which from what have read is the newest PS4 Pro version ). I share this as I would like to upgrade to a ssd and to at least a 4tb. Please let me know if you get it to work. Thank you

Can confirm, same stuff happening to me. Getting error SU 42118-6 and have tried downloading the update via playstation’s support neither option 3 or 7 are working for me. Some will say it found the file and then it loads and then I get the error code again. Feelsbadman
