Okay so I've just recently got a seagate backup plus slim 2tb hd and yet have gone on to connect to my ps4 first time it recognised it but yet won't for some reason or other format, so isn't making me able to make it external storage. How can I solve this problem? As all my software is up to date

Problem with backup HDD's they usually have additional software in the form of a partition,which prevents the PS4 from being able to format it to the format required for external storage purposes.
The partition and any additional software will need removing and tidying up on PC beforehand.
If you want a simple plug n play setup Seagate's Expansion HDD range is by far the easiest option.

PlayStation consuming space after deleting games
After deleting Titanfall 2 to free up space, I realized that after checking the storage to that it was deleted, it also consumed that space. I had 320 something gigs since it's happened before and now I have a 285.5 gig limit. I've tried rebuilding the database and I'm running out of ideas on what to do.

Reinstallation for Update 4.70
My PlayStation was working fine on the 23rd of July and when I turned it on to play it on the 24th, the following came up:
"Cannot start the PS4. Connect the DUALSHOCK 4 using the USB cable and then press the PS button."
I did that exactly and then this came up:
"Connect a USB storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version 4.70 or later."
So I downloaded the update off of the PlayStation website onto my laptop, I put in an empty USB and made a folder called 'PS4' and then inside that folder I made another called 'UPDATE' and saved the update file into the 'UPDATE' folder. When I plugged the USB into the console, the following message came up:
"The update file cannot be used.
Connect a USB storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version 4.70 or later.
(CE-34788-0)"
I have tried using different USB's and it's now been almost 3 days and its just the same process over and over.
It doesn't even start up on the usual start-up screen, it just keeps saying it 'cannot restart the PS4'. Can anyone help?

We are currently on 4.72 and if the system is asking for the re-installation update this is found further down the firmware web page by expanding the tab for"Perform a New Installation of the System Software" the file size will be around 900mb.

The coding knowledge and expertise isnt mine, it was sent to me by HiveMcclane as referenced in my post. I am merely passing on his/her good deeds to the gaming community. Sony are now also aware of this electronic coding issue so hopefully we get some sort of resolve soon. In the meantime, my console still hasnt been collected for testing.
