They should be able to fix it... rework the update for those that havent done the update and send them a download thats not scanning the ps4 for the blu ray or if you dont want ppl that already done the update downloading it again make a thread here or somewhere on the site that will allow ppl like us that dont need the blu ray drive download it and keep playing the digital games and stuff that we have.... Easy and would take about 40m to 2h top's. but now we dont have any news or anything that sony is actually doing something for us and we might not get the answer b4 ps5 come's out

Internet on my ps4 is no longer working after the update it wont load the pages fully and has been freezing on the start up menu it worked just fine before then

System udate 5.0 broke my ps4 pro.
It won't install the update my controller won't turn on my PS4/connect to it and everytime I turn my PS4 on It goes straight to the install screen, then says it failed. Then says PS4 will restart in 30 secs. Sony fix this ASAP.

People Playstation has no help so I'm calling on hackers to help them cause they don't what the doing the agents tell me Rebuild database... waste of time.....Hard reset... waste of time and lost of data....plus they tell me download the new update on usb only to find out the new update blocks or spoiled my usb port cause all it can do now is charge controllers that have no use help please!

Try clearing it from notifications > downloads -press options and delete it, then have a look in storage > apps and see if there is any game data there, if so delete that too.
Restart the console (power options-restart) and try again
