I updated today to 5.0 & my ps4 crashed. It updated & then it just kept shutting off. It stays on for 3 min. And goes off everytime. Does anyone know what I can do ? I called Sony & all they said I'm so sorry. Absolutely no help or customer care. How nice of them. I guess I’ll just get the Xbox with a real 4K blue ray. Since they just don’t give a crap.

the blu-ray drive does not affect the over all performance of the system, if you PS is in the bricked state you can roll back to 4.74 only downside is stupid PS will not let you sign in to PSN because of the firmware.
this link will allow you to roll it back until sony can fix this absurd error.

Can't access my original account
Depends if your old account is activated as primary on the console. If the accounts are the same region. What the DLC is. There's a few things to determine if you can play it
I can't give you a definite answer if it will work. Best way is to try it

Same here i tried with a usb and tried almost everything and you know what..... nothing still dead.... im not gonna pay out for a new blu ray just to get an update since ALL of my games are digital (175 game's that now cant access). Ty sony...

Oooh well, got the left sound from game in my right ear after the update, only with my wired headset, not with other headset that i plug in my controler. sounds minor but makes my to exspensive wired headset annoying useless. Thought i share this simple and minor update error with sony , maybe they fix this next update.

i been waiting for 24hrs now for a answer for this problem having this bad blue ray drive is messing up everyone who has the same problem with this update. So i just been waiting here checking every hour for a solution to this problem hopefully it's fix soon. it's just a waiting game for now

Ps4 5.0 Update Issues error code E-801809A8
I'm getting the same error. Here's what I've tried so far.
Rebuild database from safe start mode.
No change.
Initialize PS4
No change (other than I lost all my games and settings)
Here is where I called Sony support. They told me to rebuild my data base, and initialize my system, which I had already done(Can you tell I've dealt with them before?).
So they said to DL the update to a flash drive and chose option 7 from the safe start menu, which is another initialize only instead of installing the update from the internet you do it from the flash drive. I did that.
Now, my PS4 is caught in a loop where it won't even boot up. It will ONLY boot from the flash drive now, and since I get an error from that it goes straight to the error.
So I called them back. They took my PS4 model and serial number and said to try again tomorrow after midday.

I have tried so many different ways i have seen on here.
downloading the update and trying to install though safe mode (dont work) ...Via Internet ..nope ... tried completely wiping out the system and re install nope.. dam it.. i dont want to buy a new one because of this stupid update aghhhhh
