No, i remember around update 2.5 it broke EVERYONES system people were real upset back then. Theres always issues with updates since they dont seem to test them prior to rolling out.

I'm not even getting an error code on my console. I download and install the update, then after it restarts it goes to the checking system storage screen. Once it gets to 20% it stops and says cannot start the ps4. I've done the safe mode reboot to install the update again afterwards, and get the same result every time. Already reinitialized the system too

With the console off, plug the controller in using the USB. Start the console in safe mode and try to reset the controller (while plugged in, and in safe mode) with the small pin hole on the back under the L2 button. See if that gives you control in there. If it does, run the update again using option 3

I suppose i'll hold off mailing mine in for repair since there is now two reports claiming there optical drive function prior to the update. Wish playstation was at least active in communicating to us. Still feel very left in the dark.

Firmware 5.0 issues
Since the update to firmware 5.0 my turtle beach headset won't work right. They're the 520 series. I check settings, and everything looks right. But I have to switch chat audio to tv, then back to headset before I can hear anyone. Every time I restart, or shutdown my ps4, I have to reset the settings. Also, if I put my ps4 to sleep. I can't wake it with my plugged in controller. I must unplug it, or restart my ps4. Which makes me have to redo my audio settings. Hope you can discover a fix for this please.

they know exactly what is going on, don't lie to us our yourself now.
Even we know what's going on, the simple fact is here that the update reads the blu-ray drive and if it doesn't work the update can't go through and it will fail, fix that and they are done.
easy to find out the problem, now focus on a solution with a real team and don't act like you are working on it if you're not.

How about updating us with any freaking information man? You come in on your white horse giving us hope and disappear for 24 hours. Like seriously 48 hours to fix something so simple? What did you guys hand off the issue to a intern? Helloooo? seriously any employee from sony want to comment? your ghosting all of our twitter messages and replying to other people who arent experiencing the issue.
You want people to calm down and relax? If you or any employee was active and listening to us we would calm down and be patient. We feel like we have to fight for our right to be heard. So we are forced to act this way since we feel neglected and ignored.
