I feel you. Update 5.0 bricked my console. Was going to buy new one but i replaced the optical drive instead and it worked. $35 fix. This time I bought that flex cable and after a few tries it worked. I believe you can fix it. Just look at the cable and cut the plastic corners (i assume no responsibility). Make sure you put the cable ALL THE WAY in the slot on both ends and try not to move them. Once you are sure they are in then boot in safe mode and update. Usb update would be the easiest since you don’t have to redownload everytime since you have the update copy already. No need to put case on until the ps4 updates correctly

Ps4 display issues (display white/green flashing)
Hello everyone!
Two days ago I've experienced for the first time something that I guess was a problem with my ps4.
I was playing a game and suddently the pictures flashes white and goes back to normal. This was for about one frame...very quick.
The next day...I've been playing another game and again...had a flash...this time it was green. Lasted just as long...about one frame...was very quick. To me..it didn't look like the whole image was green...but in shades of green. Can't tell exactly as it was just a flash, it might have very well been solid green on the whole screen. It happend again 10 minutes later.
I've unplugged the hdmi and plugged it back in and restarted the ps4. It didn't happen for the next few hours.
I do not know if this is related to the newest firmware update...but it never happend before.
What might this be??
Is it normal? Have you ever encountered this before?

Error (SU-42118-6) when updating to 5.5?
I am not sure. I have the first gen model so my wiring is different. I think the correct wire is the one to the left of the center one. Before cutting anything. I would unplug those ribbons you see one at a time on both ends. Then put them back in making sure they go in fully and cable is straight (pins align with the slot). This should fix your problem. The cutting was just to make sure the cable goes in all the way.
I don’t think you will understand but the correct cable to cut the edges of would be the one that comes from the motherboard to the sisterboard which has the optical/blu ray drive connections attached to it.

Nope sorry didnt work friend i cut the one you told me to and it still didnt work. I booted up from Safe mode and tried to install the Update Via usb and it gave me the same error.

Exactly the same issue. We have two PS4s in our house. One did cannot be updated cause of error and blueray stopped working after it and the other one which was perfectly fine before has stopped accepting the disc after few hours of update(ejected Overwatch to put BF1 disc in and it stopped taking the disc after that). Now we are stuck with one PS4 with no online access and blueray drive and other with online access but no blueray. All I can play is Bloodborn and Fortnite or few other offline games cause three of my online games are on disc.

I recently got the Error SU-30746-0 on my PS4. I tried putting it in safe mode but I can't connect any of my controllers. I tried resetting them with the button under the L2 button but that doesn't work either. What should I do now?

Headset not able to pair after update
My headset is not able to connect after the firmware upgrade
I updated the headset compantion app
I used the restore firmware option from the APP
When i put the headset on preset 1 or 2 nothing happend the LED stays off.
When connecting by cable the LED goes red and
It should stay blue when connected
I reseted the dongle as well using a pin on the USB

Error code 770 SWBFII
After the recent System Software update Version 5.50 which was updated last Thursday, I have been experiencing extreme lag in SWBFII playtime & receiving Error Code 770 (inconsistantly not allowing me to log into the the network). My internet connection has been checked and not lagging. Even reset my modem & router numerous times just in case. This has been the only recent change in my system. Before that, it was Hail to the Empire! Please help resolve this issue.

What cable and what is the T end?

I have the same issue as Aries193, the optical drive not doing anything. Also a PS4 Slim.
