Issues using the Logitech G29

Hello, I recently bought a PS4 which is my first console since my PS2, I decided to get the PS4 Pro after using PS Now on my PC and now wanting to play the newer Playstation exclusives that are not available through the PS Now platform. Two of my favourite PS2 games were Gran Turismo 3 & 4. So I got myself Gran Turismo Sport and I also got a Logitech G29 wheel and pedal set which is my first proper wheel and pedal set.

 

I was expecting the G29 to be a plug in and play experience but that's not been the case. The wheel seems to have a mind of it's own & I spend all my time fighting the wheel instead of driving the car, After looking through the PS4 menu's for help or info on how to set it up I'm no wiser for it.  I don't know what I've done wrong or what I've not done to set it up, 

 

Can anyone help?

Please explain "Fighting the wheel"??

 

These are FFB (Forced Feedback) wheels, when turning - you will feel some resistance when driving corners.   As you have never used one before...  it sounds like you just didn't know what to expect.    If it feels too strong, you can dial back the strength within the GT Sport's menu system.  Default is probably set as 5/5.

 

 

Put a car on track and hit the Option button, this will open a menu, scroll down to Advanced Settings, click that and you can then change the value of FFB.   A lower number will ease the Force needed to steer.

 

 

I use a Thrustmaster, it's the same setup as above.   For most cars - I use 4/8 as my settings.   Some cars it can be increased for that extra feedback.   

 

 

Basically, try out a few combinations in the Advanced Settings once you have the car on track to access that menu. You will eventually get a combination of both values that will suit your driving style.

 

 

Also, connect it to a computer and follow the instruction from Logitech Web Site on updating the Firmware to the latest edition....   You don't know how long the wheel has been boxed up, it could be running an older Firmware issue.

My ps4 camera mic not working I was using yesterday and working ok but now it shows that mic plugged in and video working but in party and still not working I plugged in and out turned off and still not working plz help

PS4 Controller Connection

I reset my PS4 Console itself, its stuck on the screen to connect my controller w/ USB cable, ive tried two cables, when i connect the control i usually use tje light flashed twice n nothing happens, when i try my other controller the light just flashed

ive tried resetting the controller n more but i need help lol

Yeah. That's the exact same problem that is happened to me. One of the assosiates told me that I need to get it under repair because nothing was working for me. I have yet to do that but will let you know if you should do the same. If you have had your PS4 for under a year, it will be under free warenty, shipping and handling. FYI

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I tried using the car on an oval track like you'd see in a Indi 500 race (I think). Basically I used a very simple track,  I was expecting something similar to driving a real car in so far as you turn the wheel a little to the left or right & the car goes to the right, then it would start to straighten up on it's own but it wouldn't even turn properly, making me spin out or hit the walls, I ignored the race and the AI track cars and tried to take a leisurely drive around the track but it didn't even want to do that, Every time I try to take or come out of a turn the wheel would fight me.

 

I'll try your suggestions though and post here how I get on, Thank-you for your suggestions.

Sounds like you just need to get used to using a wheel. Took a while for me after not being able to stay on track at first.

The procedure above is not entirely accurate... Soz, was working from memory.  Being blonde, my memory is not the best pmsl.

 

To get to the wheel settings you can access from any car that is located to a track.

Start > Replay > Car Settings > Driving Options > Ranking Board > Exit

 

Click Driving Options, then scroll down to the bottom and click Detailed Settings

Now head to Controller

Here, there are 3 Settings 

Adjust these 3 values until you find something that works well.

My values won't really work for you as I'm using a different brand of wheel.

 

 

You need to keep hands on the wheel for corners, letting go and expecting the car to straighten up does not work on an oval....  you are thrown into the wall....  I'm testing this at the present.   You gotta steer the corners with full control.

 

 

Once you dial in the Detailed Settings it will become easier to drive with a wheel.  You may have to adjust these values for different cars.  I've turned mine up for this test and it feels so much better...    Anyways, it's down to personal preference with these Settings...

 

Experiment with them, you will eventually get the hang of using a wheel.   They are great fun.

Which wheel did you purchase....  I forget...   did you ever mention which one??

 

 

I'm not sure about mine any longer, since it came back from being fixed over Christmas...   it don't feel the same.

 

It's not so silky smooth to turn as before, and that's what I liked best.  The Motor assembly and Shaft Mechanism was changed...  feels so much stronger than when first used.   Think I could throw a Grenade at it and it would still work.

 

I'm going to play around with my Detailed Settings...   find a better combination.

 

Thrustmaster T300 with Logitech G25 Pedals....   Yay!!

PS4 Pro random black screen dropouts

I just got a Pro and 4K Samsung MU6300, and I get these blackouts. However I only see them when playing GTA V.

no other games.

 

when I play GTA, it’ll usually happen within the first 5 minutes for 2 seconds, and maybe once more a minute later for 2 seconds.

usualy while driving.

 

I’m in a late game mission where it’s happening once a minute now.

 

does anyone have any good fixes?

T300 with the T3PA pro pedals. Broke my pedal mount after the race Thursday. Spent 2 hours in the workshop last night fixing and reinforcing it

Same here. Bad optical drive. Formatted hard drive to exFAT then loaded update PS4 4.73 because the new 5.0 and up has bugs.

Try using a USB flash drive that's 2Mb-4Mb. Larger drives can cause problems. Format to exFAT.

Ahhh the mount... so the Pedals are oki

 

Was thinking your broke the Pedals, hard going as they are metal.

 

 

I looked into getting a set myself... but my Pedals are pretty much the same... made from metal and have the same degree of sensitivity.  Seemed pointless getting another set as they are already set up, only needed the connection mod to plug into the back of the wheel.  20 bucks from the States.  

 

Took my Pedals out of the casing and inverted them to hang down, changed the springs around each pedal and added Bungee Cords to give a much more realistic feel to acceleration and braking.   Still have full pedal travel, but the force to get there is strong.  Setting them up for myself, I've closed the gap between each pedal, enables me to press both Accelerator and Brake pedal together... my take on 'Heel n Toe'.   May sound odd, but it does work well.

I'm very disappointed with these americanized age restrictions. It's nobody elses business, but mine, what content my son has access to. Sony, do you have any other plans to take part in my sons upbringing and teach him about behaviour, nutrition, eating his carrots etc.?
